Brian Woke Up!
I really don't know who reads this besides my kids but I know some people do. This news is so exciting I have to share as many have been remembering Brian and his wife, Jean and their kids in their prayers.
Brian is awake!!!!!!!! After 12 weeks in a semi-conscious state he woke up! And the best part.......he is still Brian!!!
One of the first conversations we heard about went like this: Jean: I picked up some softener salt. Brian: You should get a furnace filter also. I usually order them online.
Another conversation with my Dad. Dad: I set up the irrigation system for your dune grass. I have it timed for once a week. Brian: I usually set it for twice a week.
Yes, he is talking! And he is very aware. He also started physical therapy. I saw a video of him yesterday peddling on a therapy bike!! It was amazing that after not using his legs for 12 weeks he was peddling away!! Words can not even begin to express the feeling all this brings.
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. One of Brian's biggest gifts has been his loving family. They were there everyday! My siblings and I are so thankful that Brian was blessed with such a loving wife and kids. They never gave up on him. (Even when some of the doctors, did.) He will be having speech and physical therapy for awhile but the progress he's made each day since he woke is absolutely amazing! I truly believe he will be up and walking soon.
