Quick Chicken Soup

I usually serve soup and sandwiches for our light meal at work. I'm always on the look out for easy, tasty soups. I was searching on the internet and found this one. I think it was from Betty Crocker. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty it was. Anyone have good, simple soup recipes to share?

Quick Chicken Soup

2 cups cooked chicken, chopped
1 cup frozen peas
2 stalks celery, chopped (1 cup)
2 medium carrots, chopped (1 cup)
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2 garlic cloves, minced
7 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 dried bay leaf
1 cup uncooked pasta, egg noodles or rotini (4 ounces)

Heat all ingredients except pasta in 4 qt. Dutch oven. Bring to boiling and add pasta. Bring back to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta and vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf.

A Rare Sight

The girls must have been bored the other night and pulled out the Clue game.

Sara I got your hint on face book. Your apron would be done but I ran out of ric rack and can't find any more. The local quilt shop lady was suppose to order some more. I also heard there is a quilt shop in Pinckney. I'll have to call and see if she has it. I tried to order online but it's hard to determine the right color. It it coming!

Danny's Favorite Thing To Do

He LOVES to watch himself. He must have recorded this on the web cam. I heard him say, "I'm a good singer". He's singing on the video. Now anyone that has ever heard Danny sing, (anyone sitting within 10 benches from him at church) MIGHT not really agree with him but the kid believes in himself!

Playing School

We have really been using our Web Cams. Jeanie was even playing school with Kirsten and Cale yesterday. It's amazing!

Emily and Amanda "pop" in a couple times a day. Kendall gives us her cute little smile! We were able to sing Happy Birthday "live" to Nikayda yesterday, also. (Sara, have you downloaded Skype yet?)

Tuesday, Danny came home from school by himself as Molly had drivers training and I was working. (He LOVES to be home by himself. He thinks he's really a "big cheese".) I guess he called Emily up on the web cam and they visited for about a half hour. Then Jeanie got home. Emily said they can "babysit" Dan on camera when nobody else is around!

Web Cam

We got a web cam and all the married kids have one now also. It's been fun visiting "live" with them. We even joined Cale at his birthday party for a little while on Saturday.

There are special effects on the web cam and the kids have been having fun with them. Especially Danny. He loves to watch himself! He will spend hours on it and it also video tapes, so he has gone a little overboard on videoing himself with crazy effects. He thinks it's so funny when he can make a double of himself and then starts boxing, puts his arm around himself, etc.

Old Stomping Grounds

We had a little time to kill before Danny's basketball game last weekend. His tournament was in Hazel Park. We drove by the old home places in Southfield.

This is where we lived the first five years of our married life.
Joe & Linda lived a couple doors down. This place has been updated real nice!
The home Dad grew up in. It's no longer a white house but seems to be in good shape and care.
