Vacationing at Neys Provincial Park in Ontario

Molly and Jean chilling out.

Jeanie and Kendall at the visitor center.
Kendall found a bug.
Bentley just hanging out.
The blueberries were fabulous!

This is how Danny blueberry picked. He didn't leave the car.

Molly and Amanda working on their second puzzle.

Molly caught a couple 17-18 inch trout.
But she had to release it. These are "coasters" that came in from the big lake and the first few miles of this river they have to be at least 22" to keep.
Fred caught his biggest trout. 21 inches....but it had to go back also.
A cool picture of Molly catching one of her fish.

We had a wonderful two weeks at Neys. The weather couldn't have been better. It was so nice to get away from it all. No phone service or internet. It's hard to believe we are down to three kids coming on vacation. Amanda and Paul and family joined us for one week and my mom and dad stopped by for two nights. I read about six books and knitted on an afghan. Hope to make it back again next year.

First Day of School

Hard to believe summer is over already. Couldn't get a good picture this morning of Danny and Jeanie. This is the best I got but it's a bit fuzzy. I twisted Molly's arm to get one last "first day of school" picture of her, also. Danny was VERY excited. He keeps saying, with a huge grin, "I can't believe I'm in 10th grade!!" No Dan, we can't believe it either! Jeanie is starting 7th grade.

BLT Pizza

One of the girls at work mentioned that she was going to pick up a BLT Pizza for one of the residents to try. I told her that I could probably make one and found a recipe from Taste of Home. It was excellent.

Here it is: www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/BLT-Pizza

Summer Eating

We planted lettuce for the first time this year. It.is.so.good!! I can't stop eating these salads. Fred put in lettuce and spinach. This is a meal of Grandma's Oriental chicken wings, June's Fantastic Mashed Potatoes and grilled asparagus. Delicious! Only thing is I tried to cut the sugar in the chicken wings and they weren't as good. It calls for 1 cup and I only put 1/2 cup sugar. I guess that was too drastic of a cut. They were still good but not as good.
