Salvation Army Find

I stopped by the local Salvation Army yesterday about five minutes after this night stand was put out (so they told me when I was checking out).I've been looking for one and was happy to find a $7.99 price tag on it. My first thought was to paint it and put new hardware on it. But once I got it home I realized that it almost perfectly matched my 35 year old bedroom set. (So now I'm thinking that maybe someday........I'll paint and redo the whole bedroom set. Maybe.)

For any of you locals, there is a nice new Salvation Army on M59 just passed Milford Road. I've only been there once. My daughters and I went thrifting one day when they were home for Christmas. I am dying to go again. One of my friends recently told me that she was "addicted" to the local thrift stores. I'm starting to get that addiction myself. I haven't found a whole lot but enough to keep the "bug" in me. In the last month I have found three pair of jeans for Danny. He is so hard to find pants for as he is so short so I was pumped as he is set in bluejeans for awhile!

Mr. Coffee

Okay, Kiddos....I'm going to try blog a little more this year. Not promising anything more exciting than pictures of my new coffee maker but since Dad bought me this sweet new camera for Christmas, maybe I'll give you guys more glimpses of home.

I love this Thermal Mr. Coffee. Although, I just read a bunch of reviews of it yesterday..... there are some great ones but there are several not so great ones. So we shall see how well I love it in a month or two. I'm drinking coffee from 5:30 this morning and it's still quite hot.

I had great intentions of working out to Jillian this morning but darn, I can't find the DVD! I don't know where it got shoved before the Christmas hustle. So I guess I'll have to wait until I find it.......never mind I have about 5 other exercise DVD's I could do. I actually thought about doing The Firm and still might.......later on today.......maybe...... Right now I'm going to start sewing one of the nine bags I have to do.

Thanks Kids

I need to cover the screws but this shelf will not come down. Thank you! (This shelf was my Christmas gift from my kids. It was purchased from Post Road Vintage Etsy Shop.)

And Just Like That It's All Over

After a week and a half of activity it's just Dad, me, Jeanie and Danny. We enjoyed a meal of crab legs and are just relaxing this new years eve.

The last of the company left this afternoon. We had such a super great time! Very busy but everything went so smoothly. The kids were great and I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the help the girls give. "Many hands make light work." Hard to believe Christmas has come and gone! Now to start thinking about those New Years resolutions........

Danny's Surprise Party

Danny's siblings decided to throw him a surprise 16th Golden Birthday surprise party when they were all home. It didn't go over quite as well as they expected. This picture pretty much depicts his enthusiasm. All he wanted to do was open his presents. Then he said he was tired and he wanted to "take a shower and go to bed." I'm thinking some of the others got pictures of him coming in the door and the decorations. I'll post them when I find them.

Christmas Program

This was Danny's last day of Sunday school. He starts confirmation in January. He had a piece but didn't memorize it so had to read it. You can see it sticking out of his pocket. The confirmation boys said pieces and the girls sang a song. Danny was disappointed he wasn't singing. He initially said he was going to "sing" his piece. Thank goodness he didn't! He actually said it very well. Some years he blasted out the microphone but not this year. Jeanie chose not to say a piece. She only had to sing.
