I've been fighting a cold virus for two weeks. It started as a terrible head cold and now has settle into bronchitis. It's viral so it just has to run it's course. I'm looking forward to next week with the hope I'll finally be healthy again.
I've sort of been laying low and have been doing quite a bit of knitting. The little bootie in the center of the picture was suppose to be for Heidi's Isaac. A bit smaller than the pattern seem to suggest. So I made it with thicker yarn and bigger needles. (The brown one.) The exact same pattern and number of stitches. Way to big! So I used the same size needles and wool yarn (the blue one's in the right corner) and thought I'd make them big and felt them. Unfortunately, the gray I used for the bottom was washable wool so it didn't felt. I'll have to see if they will fit any of the babies. Now I still have to make mates for the brown and light blue bootie......The purple slippers are for Kendall. I still have to sew on the button and loop. The hat is suppose to be for Isaac. I finished it once and it was too tall so I ripped it out and have to finish it. I actually was this far already one other time and had to rip it out and start over as it was way to small......I'm in the process of making leg warmers for Jean but they appear to be too big. So I guess if they fit Emily (although she's not much bigger than Jean) she will get them. If not, I'll keep them for me. I seem to be running into problem after problem with my knitting but believe it or not, I still enjoy it.
The bag is for Emily. I sewed that up the other day. The pattern doesn't call for a lining but I really think it needs to be lined. So once I get fabric for that I'll finish it. Once her bag is done, that leaves me only four left to make!

Hey a delicious 'tonic' to help you get better sooner
Inna quart size jar toss in a sliced lemon, a good chunk of ginger sliced & diced (small chunks) a few healthy sized tablespoons of raw (unprocessed local) honey and fill jar up with hot water. Sip away. Taste delicious and full of stuff to make you better. Youll love it. Taste like a lemondrop. I add a couple teaspooms of powdered ginger & 1 teaspoon of powdered tumeric too to up the anti. I love it and you will too. I dont know how to sign in to post. Using anonymous but really its Audrey Miller. .
What a good way to work thru the bug. Your "misfits" make me giggle. I'm the same way. Joys of a big family....sure to fit SOMEONE!
That little brown one is my favorite. Want to see that bag when it's done.
Love the stripes on Emily's bag.
That's when you know you love your craft-it's still fun even when you keep messing up. I veiw mess-ups as lessons learned so it's never a waste.
