Happy Birthday Jennifer! Hard to believe it was 30 years ago I use to sit her in this nice, sturdy and safe carseat! Actually, I didn't buckle this up in the car. I usually just laid her down on the front seat next to me where I could put out a hand if I had to hit the brakes a little hard! I just held her if Dad was driving. Those were the days before "safety" was invented. Strange that we were all so ignorant.

My mom talks about sticking out her arm to hold kids on the seat too. I think she still has that automatic reflex. Carseats were a great invention but I would love it if only all those buckles latched themselves!

Hear! Hear! Sue, you should invent automatic-buckling seatbelts (in referrence to your blog entry about inventions) you could make MILLIONS!
