Update on Uncle Pete

I cut and pasted the following update from the family website. There are so many stories and rumors going around about Uncle Pete's condition. This is from his son Dave. I have no clue if Pete or Ellen or any of their family look at this blog but they are very dear to our hearts and we are remembering them with thoughts and prayers.
This is from Dave, Pete and Ellen's son:

I will try to shed some light on the fact that my dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Many have questions about him and mom's situation so I will try to write on a regular basis or whenever pertinent information comes along. Please feel free to forward this to anyone else. A month ago, he coughed up a lunger with a little blood in it and he wrote it off as caused by acid reflux or something like it. Tums worked for a little while the it came back. He went in and doc ordered a chest xray and discovered a lump in his right lung about2x4 inches. We then took him to Mqt. for a biopsy. The biopsy came back as showing he has Adeno carcinoma which is not fast and not slow but average growing cancer. Then on friday the 10th, he was picking carrots and spuds in the garden and he coughed up blood. He went to the ER and then to Mqt where they tried to cotterize(sp) the bleed but could not find it. It had stopped on its own. He is now out of intensive care and in a regular room on the Oncology floor. TOday, monday the 13th, he had a MRI of his head and a breath/capacity test of his lungs, tuesday he will have a PET scan. The MRI and PET scans will determine if the cancer has spread and will tell us what stage its at and the lung test will help determine if he can be cosidered for a Lobectomy which is a removal of a lung or portion of a lung. That is where we are for now. Like I said, I will try to update this way when we know more.Dave (Gdson of Vaari, son of Pete)

Thanks Anne, many have been wondering up here, and even though we are close in location, facts get totally turned around. We heard it was aggressive and inoperable. Our thoughts are prayers are with Pete, Ellen, and their extended family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pete and his family. What a scary and uncertain time for them all.
