It Must Be Fall

The smell of these Apple Pie Slices, page 313 in our family cookbook, sure make it smell like fall. These are the best! I especially like them cold with no ice cream. Others prefer them warm with ice cream. For anyone who may not have the cookbook, the recipe is on the right. Just "click" on "recipe" and scroll down until you find this one. Actually, most of those recipes are in the cookbook!

The kids are all back in school and I'm trying to get motivated to "tackle" this house. Deep clean and de-junk. I'm thinking about looking for a job. Actually, I have been looking but there isn't much out there. Anyone know anyone hiring? Of course, I want part-time, no nights and no weekends. Preferably not retail and no cleaning jobs.

I haven't had those in years either. I might have made them when we were first married (and I've had them when I've been home). Time to make some this fall!

Nikayda and I went out looking for fall fruit this evening. We found wild plums by our driveway about a week ago and I was hoping to find more. (No luck yet.) So, I ended up picking a bunch of choke cherries. I'm going to try making some jelly. Anna mentioned she made it before and said it was really good. I can't wait to try it!

I sat in VG's parking lot for the longest time reading the cookbook the night the twins brought it over after their pictures... thank you for doing this!
