FIRE!!!

I was frying pancakes for supper last night and all of a sudden I hear a hooten and hollering and some crackling noise going on. I turned around to see the Christmas tree branches in the centerpiece in flames! You never saw so many people move so fast! Molly grabbed the water pitcher and Fred jumped up and blew out the flames. I grabbed the pitcher from Molly before she flooded the whole table which still had the days mail and Christmas cards on it. I drizzled water on the embers left on the tree branches! This box which still held MY Christmas cards and some fabric I just bought caught the flames also! Jeanie said she was ready to run out the back door! Gretchen was on her way to run out the front door!! Danny said he almost called 911! Talk about excitement!

So glad the cards and fabric didn't get ruined!! Yikes! Talk about excitement.

Inspite of it all, it makes for a pretty darned funny story. I can totally envision it all - especially Gretch and Jean making a dash for it. Never mind trying to put the flames out - they'll just let it burn. LOL!! ;)

wow, sounds scary! at brads birthday party the candles were sitting on the base then we (cant remember exactly who) decided that they should be able to be in the holders with out burning! matt even tested it and held a napkin over the flames!

Yikes! Are you sure Gretch and Molly weren't already at the meeting spot before Dan called off the fire department? Because if I remember correctly, the two dramatics in the family would probably be running out the door in their underwear before trying to put out a teenzy little fire.

oh my! But it does make me laugh how everyone reacted differently.

Kirsten was looking over my shoulder and I told her that Grandma Heinonen had a fire and she asked where you guys were going to live now.

Hello, give me some credit, I was sitting right in front of it and I didn't go anywhere! I was looking for something to smother it with.
