Karen called to see if I wanted to go to the new water park at Kensington yesterday. I really didn't feel like baking in the 95 degree sun so I told her to bring the kids over for a swim instead. We'll go to the park another day. Karen and I sat on the deck in the shade while the kids swam. Today Lynette is coming over to do our walk in the pool. I had a doctor's appointment at 9:00 this morning and it was too hot by the time I got back. I went for my first ever physical. She did an EKG and my heart looks good. I will be going for a bunch of blood work. I feel great but thought since I'm hitting the big 5-0 I should probably get checked over.
Good idea to go in for a physical. I just got a notice from our family dr that it was time for my physical too. Never had a dr send out a reminder like that before!
You were probably smart to stay home from the waterpark today. I was there last Friday and it was packed. They were turning people away because it was @ maximum capacity by lunch time. Fun for the kids, stressful for the mom to keep track of them! I'd prefer to swim at home :)
I was going through my old papers and I found one that I thought I would share with you. I believe I wrote it when I was in 6th grade, so that would have been in 96.
"I have alwys admired my Aunt Anne because she is very special. Some of the reasons why she is special is because she has 13 kids and the littlest one has Down Syndrome. Both she and her husband love kids though and I feel that Danny (he's the one with Down Syndrome) is very lucky to have been born into Anne's family. He well always know that he is loved in his family. With 13 kids life has got to be hard on Aunt Anne but whenever I go over there she is always so patient. I have never seen her lose her temper. Anne works for Pamper Chef and is an editor for Taste of Home. SHe likes to cook, and its a good thing she does because its hard to find a thing that everyone will eat in a family that big. Anne loves to try new recipes but she still uses old ones. My aunt has taught me too have patience and too hold my temper. Aside from being a good cook, and having alot of patience she is a good mother, aunt, and sister. Anne is so understanding, and she treats me like I'm her daughter, when I go over there. I love my aunt and I can't wait until I see her again."

Looks like fun! And I'm glad to hear you went for a physical... Hope everything comes back fine.

Katie, that's such a nice paper that you wrote! :)
Katie, Thank you for sharing your paper. I feel I'm pretty unworthy for such kind words but I was touched by it.
Love,
Anne
